Founded just 50 years ago as a place where those who were working on the nearby Glen Canyon Dam could live, it only has a population of about 7,000 people, and there isn’t much of a downtown scene in the area. Glen Canyon Dam

The aforementioned Glen Canyon Dam is one of the first reasons why so many people have started flocking to Page, AZ. It sits right on the Colorado River and helped form Lake Powell when it was first built back in the 1950s and 1960s. Lake Powell is now one of the biggest man-made reservoirs in the country. People from far and wide come to Page, AZ specifically to take a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam to see what it’s all about.
